Changing your username
You can change your username to another that's not in use or has been used in the past 14 days. If the username you want is not available, consider another name or variations of the wanted username. Using numbers, dashes, understores, or an alternative spelling may help you find a similar username.
When you change your username, your old username will be reserved for 14 days. During this time any links to it will redirect to your new url. After the 14 days it will no longer redirect and become available for anyone to claim.
Unintended side effects
Changing your username can have unintended side effects cuasing your experience to become worse. Side effects include but are not limited to:
- Any links not updated to use your new url will no longer show your profile after the 14 day reservation.
- Unchangable copies of your link, such as in a video or on a physical item, will no longer show your profile after the 14 day reservation.
